While compiling newlib, backend crashes on some files. One of them is libm/common/lrintl.c that can be transformed to the attached lrintl.ll.txt.

Bugpoint reduces it down to

$ ~/projects/llvm-project/build/bin/llvm-dis < bugpoint-reduced-named-md.bc
; ModuleID = '<stdin>'
source_filename = "lrintl-6541b9.c"

declare i32 @llvm.lrint.i32.f64(double) #1

I used the following command, if it does matter:

~/projects/llvm-project/build/bin/bugpoint -llc-safe lrintl.ll -tool-args --disable-symbolication

Meanwhile, mere loading of debug information can take several seconds. While it is useful (or at least tolerable) for usual debugging tasks, it seems ruining bugpoint performance. Wouldn't it be useful to pass --disable-symbolication argument to the tool under test, if appropriate. In case it can change bug reproducibility, bugpoint could show a suggestion at the beginning of its output, at least. The user would have much time to read it... Still, I can hardly imagine why disabling symbolizer could hinder "crashability" - and for that rare case, an option can be added to explicitly revert to the traditional behavior.

I would not bother and simple strip debug info prior to bugpoint :)

As for this particular issue – I would ignore it is for now. i32 is not a legal type on MSP430, so some additional care would be required.

I expected to implelemt some hackish solution for this such as "use some LIBCALL that is not defined yet" at first, too. But it seems, I cannot just ignore it, because this (and possible other issues like this one) could prevent regular compilation of newlib (or other similar libraries).

I mean, I perfectly accept the case "A particular program that tries to use such function would not link". But I would prefer to defer this until the particular .o file would be extracted from libm.a and used (it would not, unless program explicitly uses this function, if I get this case right).

Or do you mean re-configure newlib for 16-bit platform because fixing all issues that would probably arise is too complex?

We are not interested in fixing all newlib problems (yet). Documenting them is fine, hacking out via external call is fine as well.

When `Target::GetEntryPointAddress()` calls `exe_module->GetObjectFile()->GetEntryPointAddress()`, and the returned
`entry_addr` is valid, it can immediately be returned.

However, just before that, an `llvm::Error` value has been setup, but in this case it is not consumed before returning, like is done further below in the function.

In https://bugs.freebsd.org/248745 we got a bug report for this, where a very simple test case aborts and dumps core:

```
* thread #1, name = 'testcase', stop reason = breakpoint 1.1
   1	int main(int argc, char *argv[])
   2	{
-> 3	    return 0;
   4	}
(lldb) p argc
Program aborted due to an unhandled Error:
Error value was Success. (Note: Success values must still be checked prior to being destroyed).
Having nested macros in the C code could cause clangd to fail an assert in clang::Preprocessor::setLoadedMacroDirective() and crash.
 #9 0x0000000001004d1a clang::Preprocessor::setLoadedMacroDirective(clang::IdentifierInfo*, clang::MacroDirective*, clang::MacroDirective*) /qdelacru/llvm-project/clang/lib/Lex/PPMacroExpansion.cpp:116:5
An example of the code that causes the assert failure:
```
...
```
During code completion in clangd, the macros will be loaded in loadMainFilePreambleMacros() by iterating over the macro names and calling PreambleIdentifiers->get(). Since these macro names are store in a StringSet (has StringMap underlying container), the order of the iterator is not guaranteed to be same as the order seen in the source code.
When clangd is trying to resolve nested macros it sometimes attempts to load them out of order which causes a macro to be stored twice. In the example above, ECHO2 macro gets resolved first, but since it uses another macro that has not been resolved it will try to resolve/store that as well. Now there are two MacroDirectives stored in the Preprocessor, ECHO and ECHO2. When clangd tries to load the next macro, ECHO, the preprocessor fails an assert in clang::Preprocessor::setLoadedMacroDirective() because there is already a MacroDirective stored for that macro name.
In this diff, I check if the macro is already inside the IdentifierTable and if it is skip it so that it is not resolved twice.
This crash was exposed recently in our randomized testing. _BitInts were
not being handled properly during IntegerLiteral visitation. This patch
addresses the problem for now.
The BitIntType has no getKind() method, so the FoldingSetID is taken
from the APInt value representing the _BitInt(), similar to other
methods in StmtProfile.cpp.
Crash seen (summary form):
…tePluginObject
After llvm/llvm-project#68052 this function changed from returning
a nullptr with `return {};` to returning Expected and hitting `llvm_unreachable` before it could
do so.
I gather that we're never supposed to call this function, but on Windows we actually do call
this function because `interpreter->CreateScriptedProcessInterface()` returns
`ScriptedProcessInterface` not `ScriptedProcessPythonInterface`. Likely because
`target_sp->GetDebugger().GetScriptInterpreter()` also does not return a Python related class.
That might be a bug on the Windows side, or an artifact of how our build is setup,
but whatever it is, having `CreatePluginObject` return an error and
the caller check it, fixes the failing test.
The built lldb can run the script command to use Python, but I'm not sure if that means
anything.
The build-bot is unhappy
`GroupingAndPrefix` fails after `TopLevelOptInSubcommand` (the newly
Revert while I look into this (might be related with test sharding but
TestCases/Misc/Linux/sigaction.cpp fails because dlsym() may call malloc
on failure. And then the wrapped malloc appears to access thread local
storage using global dynamic accesses, thus calling
___interceptor___tls_get_addr, before REAL(__tls_get_addr) has
been set, so we get a crash inside ___interceptor___tls_get_addr. For
example, this can happen when looking up __isoc23_scanf which might not
exist in some libcs.
Fix this by marking the thread local variable accessed inside the
debug checks as "initial-exec", which does not require __tls_get_addr.
This is probably a better alternative to llvm/llvm-project#83886.
This fixes a different crash but is related to llvm/llvm-project#46204.
